Player Profile: Tziarra King (UTA)

King is a 21-year-old player who was the 8th overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft. Utah Royals chose her, and that brought them not only an amazing football player, but also a happy girl with a bright smile.

When she was 4 years old, King started playing football at the local Pee Wee youth club in her hometown Sicklerville, New Jersey, and immediately fell in love with the game. She played both club and school soccer and eventually, she managed to get a place at NC State University.

And her university stats were amazing: she scored 48 times in 88 games, which is over 0.54 goals per game! And even in the Challenge Cup she has already scored; a header against Houston Dash.

Her playing style can best be described as someone who runs a lot. She sees what is the best position to be in and then she just goes there, gets the ball and scores. She also often uses tricks to pass defenders and leave them on the ground. I think her strongest point is that she sees what’s going to happen next in the game, where she has to be, a view that not many players have.

Mark my words: Tziarra King could become a really big player. I’m looking forward to see her play more!
